WWJLD Wednesday...Instant Karma

We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun! I love this song on so many levels. When you first start listening to this song it sounds as if JL is being a little pessimistic and really warning you to watch your step - Instant Karma's gonna get you! It reminds you to wake up and realize the things you are doing and the things you are taking for granted - What in the world you thinking of, laughing in the face of love? Perhaps one of my favorite lines in the whole song is - Better get yourself together darlin', join the human race. If we all just took a moment and remembered we are all part of the human race and forgot about colors, countries, race, sexual preference, maybe we might be a little more compassionate with each other, a little more understanding.

After what seems like a little scolding from JL though, he breaks out the positive - We all shine on! We are all in this together, lets act that way. Better recognize your brothers everyone you meet, why in the world are we here, surely not to live in pain and fear. 

To me JL's music isn't just another song. His lyrics are his emotions, his beliefs, his thoughts, his fears. Our fears. I hope if you never have before, that you take a moment, enjoy the video and follow along with the lyrics. They really say something. And next time think twice, or Instant Karma might just get you.
